For sale here is a very cool WW2 German Luftwaffe, Heer, or Gestapo Officer's Private Purchase Leather Overcoat. The Coat is made of black horsehide leather. It shows a ton of age and wear, and displays very well as a combat worn coat. It does not appear to ever have had shoulder boards. The coat does have some issues beyond wear and fading. Each of the sleeve cuff straps are missing their buttons. The belt holder slots on the back of the coat are missing their buttons. The front closure system consists of 2 D rings, and a rope/chain was used to hold these together, and it is missing. The exterior pocket zipper is missing it's pull. The metal components(Not the zippers) show some surface rust. The jacket is slightly stiff, but it is in no way brittle. There is some seam separation at the collar in each shoulder(likely from long term storage on a hanger). Otherwise, the coat is strong and has a great worn look. The external equipment strap is present and has some rust on the Stocko snaps. The missing external buttons could easily be replaced with just about any type of button. The belt is present and shows similar wear, and has a quick disconnect hook. The exterior zipper works fine, but it is missing the pull. Inside, the jacket is lined in flannel wool. This flannel wool shows heavy wear in the collar. This exposes the underside of the leather. The internal zipper works fine and is marked Opti. There was a black leather covered button found in this pocket. There is an internal equipment strap with Stocko snaps. Salty? Yes. Great Look? Yes. This will be perfect for your combat display. It is heavy and bulky. If it ships for less, i will refund the difference. The measurements are below for your convenience.
